Spall #1

                        The 1st spall 18/Jun/'08

 

Godar #1 (length-8 cm./width- 4 cm./ weight 31 grams.), isolated.

This Godar is 8cm. X 4 cm. It was made with a whitetail antler billet, a copper pressure flaker, sandstone abrader, and a copper notcher. It took 40 minutes to complete.

Here's the 1st Godar, with the tools, and associated debitage.

There were 8 spoke shaves, 1 unaltered flake knife, 2 reamers, 1 graver, and 7 thumb scrapers produced from Godar #1's debitage. They took 19 minutes to produce. The tools weighed 110 grams and the debitage weighed 205 grams.



Spall #2

                     Spall #2 18/June/'08

 

Here's Etley # 1 with its associated debitage. This Etley point measures 10.7 cm. X 3.8 cm. It was made using the whitetail antler billet, copper pressure flaker, sandstone abrader, and copper notcher. It took 51 minutes to make.

Etley # 1 (length-10.3 cm. /width-3.8 cm./weight-40 grams) isolated.

Etley # 1 with its associated debitage and tools.

The tools consisted of: 13 thumb scrapers, 4 spoke shaves,and 3 unaltered flake knives. They took 26 minutes to make. The tools weighed 105 grams and the debitage weighed 229 grams.



Spall #3

                     Spall #3  21/June/'08

Godar point #2. It was made using the whitetail antler billet, copper pressure flaker, sandstone abrader, and copper notcher. It took 48 minutes to make.

Godar #2 (length-6.4 cm./width 3.6 cm./weight-20 grams), isolated

Godar #2, its tools and debitage.

The tools consisted of: 3 unaltered flake knives, 5 thumb scrapers, 5spoke shaves, and 1 overshot scraper. It took 16 minutes to produce the tools. The tools weighed 188 grams and the debitage weighed 302 grams.



Spall #4

                      Spall $4 21/June/'08

Godar #3 made with whitetail antler billet, copper pressure flaker,  sandstone abrader, and copper notcher. It took 30 minutes to make.

Godar #3 (length-6.6 cm./width-4.0cm/weight-22 grams), isolated.

Godar #3, with its tools, and associated debitage. There were: 2 spoke shaves, 1 unaltered flake knife, 4 thumb nail scrapers, and 1 graver. They took 13 additional minutes to make. The tools weighed 26 grams and the debitage weighed 113 grams.



Spall #5

                       Spall #5 21/ June/'08

 

Etley #2 Was made with a whitetail antler billet, sandstone abrader, and copper pressure flaker. It took 1 hour and 3 minutes to make.

Etley #2 (length-16.9 cm./width-3.9 cm./weight-79 grams), isolated.

Etley #2 and its associated tools and debitage. The tools consisted of:

25 thumb scrapers, 26 spoke shaves, 2 unaltered flake knives, and 2 reamers. They took 1 hour and 29 minutes to produce. The tools weighed 478 grams (thumb scrapers= 233 grams and other tools= 245 grams)  and the debitage weighed 688 grams.

(Note: Spall # 16 was taken from the debitage of Etley #2 and Matanzas # 6 was made from that spall.

Godar #4, made with a whitetail antler billet, copper pressure flaker, sandstone abrader, and copper notcher and it took 30 minutes to make.

Godar #4 (length-7.4 cm./width-4.0 cm/weight-29 grams), isolated

Godar #4 with its associated tools and debitage. The tools consist of: 4 spoke shaves and 5 thumb scrapers. The tools took 9 minutes to produce. The tools weighed 29 grams and the debitage weighed124 grams.
